DESERT® & TROPIC® Technology:
Humidity Resistance

High ambient temperature

Even in desert regions, the relative humidity can get very high in the morning, reaching up to 100% relative humidity in January. Because of the delamination of backsheets and encapsulants, relative humidity reduces adhesion for glass or junction boxes, causing safety issues. Also, in standard encapsulants, moisture can penetrate and rinse certain additives, leading to potential degradation. All these processes will be accelerated by high ambient temperatures.

J.v.G. technology’s Diamond DESERT Foil, together with the DESERT Lamination Process, prevents moisture from penetrating into the module. For this reason, the DESERT Modules are very suitable for locations with high humidity.
