A Ray of Hope: Solar Modules with Nanotechnology Significantly Improve the Energy Yield

Something interesting for all those who wish to invest in the future of solar technology: J.v.G. technology GmbH is launching a new development aimed to enhance the performance of standard modules by more than 20%. This is made possible by combining nanotechnology and optics.

J.v.G. technology GmbH has invested three years of research, and now the new technology has reached its market maturity.

Just recently, J.v.G. presented a special high efficiency module that is resistant to extreme heat. The “desert module technology” achieves a performance increase of 8 to 10 watts on each standard module through the “high power temperature” process. The module is already in series production after being introduced into the market in December 2011.

Nonetheless, what our innovative developers are now presenting to the public is a genuine quantum jump: as a result of the new HPTP nanotechnology, performance increases by more than 20%. Hans Thoma, the managing director of J.v.G. technology, explains how this works: “Until now, solar modules weren’t necessarily able to capture all types of rays. But the nanocoating we have applied is capable of bundling all impacting rays due to its very special properties. Thereby we capture the entire spectrum and utilize it for power generation.” The whole process takes place on a surface of 5 x 3 cm.

The prototype with a 6-inch base will be completed by the end of March. Initial discussions with investors are already taking place, but the company is open to hearing from additional interested parties. “We are keenly looking for partners who wish to shape the future together with us,” Hans Thoma explained.
